Knuffle Bunny Craft
Our students had so much fun creating a Knuffle Bunny craft after we read the book and learned about Mo Willems.
Digging with sand - table activity
In our dinosaur theme, students had so much fun digging for dinosaurs in sand, uncovering hidden letters, and using a stick to write letters. During this time, parents and caregivers where given important tips on promoting early literacy at home.
Knuffle Bunny craft
Students exploring watercolor during a Knuffle Bunny craft. The pieces to paint were small so they practiced using their "helping hand" to hold the paper.
Dinosaur obstacle course
Students had a blast pretending to be dinosaurs while they crawled through a "cave", jumped in a "hole", ran around "boulders", balanced on "rocks" in the "river", jumped over a "log", ran past scary dinosaurs, and rescued the dinosaur eggs (which were plastic eggs with letters in them that they had to name). Parents learned that building large muscles groups helps to support smaller muscles!
All About Me activityJPG
We read My Nose, Your Nose and then students drew pictures about their favorite things. Parents learned about the important relationship between body awareness and writing development.
Mo Willems Theme
We learned all about what makes Mo Willems books special! Students were given piggie and elephant puppets (to practice narrative skills) to take home.
Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus
In our "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" game our students dressed up like pigeons and practiced letters and numbers.
