Summer Lessons & Programs
A First Foundation, LLC is pleased to be offering summer private lessons as well as small group programs to help children prepare for the upcoming school year and keep skill sets fresh over the summer months.
Individualized, One-on-one Private Services:
Private lessons are available for children ranging from PreK through elementary school in the areas of:
reading fluency and comprehension
spelling and grammar
The process includes a free consultation, baseline assessment to help plan lessons, written report with customized plan, and a progress report at the end of the summer. Sessions typically are held for 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes, 1 - 2 times per week.
Price = $40 per 1/2 hour by appointment only
Intensive Individualized, One-on-one Private Services:
A First Foundation also offers services for students needing more intensive intervention/remediation. Lessons occur daily for 2 hours, for 1-week. Lessons are scheduled at your convenience.
Price = $700 per week (2 hours per day)
Small Group Services:
Designed for small groups of up to 3 students of similar abilities and/or grade level, A First Foundation offers fun, interactive weekly programs from July 19th through August 20th that help children become ready to rise to the next grade. Classes are kept intentionally small so the students can receive individualized attention while also collaborating with other students. Details are below.
Literacy small group:
July 19th - 23rd: 2nd grade rising readers & writers
July 26th - 30th: 1st grade rising readers & writers
August 2nd - 6th: Kindergarten rising readers & writers
Time: 9:30 - 12:00 daily
Lessons include systematic, multisensory instruction in phonological awareness, high frequency words, decoding/encoding, comprehension strategies, handwriting, writing, fluency
August 9th - 20th: "On My Way to K" whole-child development program that gives children a head start on success in Kindergarten.
A.M. program: 9:30 - 12:00
P.M. program: 1:00 - 3:30
Price: $750 for 2-week program
Includes explicit instruction in literacy (reading, writing, speaking, listening), math, handwriting, and social-emotional skills. A brief report is provided at the end of the two weeks.
